Get Your Warranty Quote Now
Keeping your home protected is one of your highest priorities upon becoming a homeowner. When you live in your home for an extended period of time, you have a higher chance of dealing with major structural defects that can arise. This may happen on the 5th, 7th, or 9th year you spend living in your newly built home. If it does occur then you have the coverage to quickly rectify the problem without fear of being unable to finance it or having to wait an extended period of time for it to be dealt with.

What is a 10-Year Warranty?

A warranty like this gives you coverage for 10 years from when the property is completed. Your warrantor is your insurer for all ten years of the warranty period except for the first year where the warranty is insured by the builder so if there are any immediate defects in the home after building it falls to them.

This warranty covers Major Structural Defects only. Some of the defects, such as poor materials or bad workmanship can be covered in the first year of the warranty while the major defects can be covered throughout the course of 10 years.

Reasons to Get a 10 Year Warranty

The most important quality about a 10-year warranty is that it protects your biggest investment. Building a home is by no means inexpensive so you want to protect it from defects for as long as possible. If something is wrong, you want to get it fixed as soon as you can. This gives you peace of mind if you ever come across poor workmanship by the builder or something unforeseen happenings to the newly built home in the coming years.
